So here we are, Berlin Carnival of Cultures, I had no idea about how great and big this event could be, and what Hendrik also said, well he said nothing, so I did not have any expectations to fulfill, but I was gladly surprised, how well organized everything was:
Berlin: Incomparable and crazy
The atmosphere of the Berlin Carnival of Cultures was just splendid, it reminded me of partying in Southern countries, for example in Spain, where people feel united and all just want to have a chilled, good time.
No prejudices, no classifications, no age-limits: everyone is how one wants to be: dress as you like, impress as you like.
All in all, friendly atmosphere, a bit drunk, a bit smoked air, but that of course is always a bit of the part of relaxation for people.
The Berlin Carnival of Cultures lasts for four days, when the whole district Berlin Kreuzberg is just one big place of fun and cultural diversity.
It is one of the biggest and at the same time, for us at least, the nicest celebration in the city.
Every year at Pentecost Sunday all citizens of Berlin and people from other cities and countries gather together.
Approximately a million of visitors arrive to Berlin during Carnival of Cultures and hit the ground hard till it shakes. Music- and dancing groups of professionals and amateurs take part as well.
Reasons to like Carnival of Cultures, I can list them here, even though who likes lists…
But lets go through this short list quickly and move forward to the snapshots from Carnival of Cultures in Berlin as soon as we pass this mandatory list:
- Carnival of Cultures in Berlin unites all the nations of the World together:
Everyone can get acquainted with different cultures, traditions, rituals and feel the spirit of joy and happiness.
What I really liked in Carnival of Cultures in Berlin, that everyone could represent their culture and tradition and be proud of it and at the same time see and feel how others support and feel absolutely open minded towards all of the nations and people.
This Carnival of Cultures in Berlin shows that human nation is not as bad as some of the historical evidences and facts can prove us.
This list contained one point, which is relevant to 10 points, because this 1, massive point will stand for all the 10 points.
Berlin Carnival of Cultures begins
First wagon that we saw was the Brazilian one.
This man with the big arms was apparently that day the man with the biggest arms in the city of Berlin. Congratulations for him.
It is not a random fact that Brazilian Carnival is the best on Earth.
Again, It was also in Berlin Carnival of Cultures one of the most spectacular one:
Great drummers, amazing costumes, beautiful women with their amazing costumes dancing samba.
It was like a little breath from the big Carnival of Rio in Brazil.
Oh, look Unicorn, and someone told you they do not exist!!! Yes they do and even in color of Pink!
Unicorns in Berlin
Unicorns are totally hot! If you want to rank unicorn in a hotness scale from 1-10 it is totally on scale 12, over the top!
Attention all brides behind the screens. On the following pic comes a new trend.
If you do not know and feel a bit unsure about your dress for the wedding, I think just by seeing this picture all is clear. This guy is in and knows the balance between style and fashion.
If you have ever come across the articles about “how womens swimming suits changed during last 100 years”. This is also one sort of the change during the time.
PS. Please, notice also a blue unicorn in the background.
Another unicorn in one day. Man cannot be luckier than this.
Meat or no meat – this is the question! For more and more people a vegetarian or even vegan lifestyle is getting more and more appealing.
Anyway, here is a set of advertising for this kind of food… You wanna be her Tofu-Tiger? Go on and have a taste 😉
This I gotta love. Totally birdish style is this man with the mask. Just beautiful. I know that combination and balance between white and black is not comparable with any other colours and this man knows it as well.
The Crowd of party people of Berlin Carnival of Cultures.
It is now about 9thirty pm and the parade is nearly over and people are just having a good time. So many different faces and beautiful people.
The sky was clear and just beautiful without even one cloud.
Everyone walks now slowly to the end of the parade while watching this amazing sunset!
You see everything at the Carnival
One of the examples of how people prepare for the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin. Eye-catching hair color for those that are brave to turn into orange.
The Parade of Carnival of Cultures in Berlin is over. Empty bottles gathered together.
The whole area around Mehringdamm / Gneisenaustraße looked like a battlefield of bottles. Some people, those who were smart enough/ who had enough time earned quite a good money just with that glass-stuff, for sure! Anyway, Berlin knows how to party and is showing this excellently here too.
It was a great day for us. Everything was perfect, even the weather was sunny for this day like it was for every year before. It seems that Petrus likes that kind of party as well 🙂
So the official Party is over, now the countless private parties continue in so many places for those who are still hungry for life and not too tired of partying that hard!
We enjoyed it with our friends, thank you Tobi, Alex, Joe, Tatjana and all the others too!
Let’s stay open-minded, life-loving and coloured!
Dear reader, if you enjoyed reading our article we would be very happy about a small donation.
